Buyer note: Standards should be used to define scope, coating route, inspection and documentation. Do not put standard names in an RFQ without saying which tray parts they apply to.
| Reference | What buyers usually use it for | RFQ question to confirm |
|---|---|---|
| ASTM A123/A123M | Hot-dip galvanized coating on fabricated iron and steel products. | Does it apply to straight sections only, or also fittings, covers, brackets and supports? |
| ASTM A653/A653M | Zinc-coated steel sheet produced by the hot-dip process. | Is pre-galvanized steel sheet accepted, or is after-fabrication HDG required? |
| ISO 1461 | Hot-dip galvanized coatings on fabricated iron and steel articles. | Are coating thickness records or third-party inspection required? |
| IEC 61537 / EN 61537 | Cable tray and cable ladder system requirements and testing references. | Which load, span, safety factor or test report language is required by the owner? |
| NEMA VE 1 / VE 2 | Cable tray systems and installation guidance in North American-related projects. | Is the project asking for NEMA terminology, construction details or installation practices? |
| JIS H 8641 / JIS G 3302 | Japanese-related references for hot-dip galvanizing and zinc-coated steel sheet. | Which Japanese standard is named in the project, and does it apply to sheet, fabricated items or both? |
| GB/T 13912 and project specs | Chinese hot-dip galvanizing reference or local owner requirement. | Will the owner accept Chinese standard documents, or require ASTM/ISO/EN/JIS wording? |
How Yunxing helps buyers avoid standard mismatch
- We ask whether the project requires pre-galvanized sheet or hot-dip galvanizing after fabrication.
- We confirm whether fittings, covers and supports need the same material and finish as straight tray sections.
- We can quote document scope separately when coating records, inspection photos or third-party inspection are required.
- We keep claims practical: final acceptance always depends on the owner specification, local code and inspection requirements.
Recommended RFQ wording
Instead of writing only "galvanized cable tray, ASTM A123", write the required tray type, material thickness, finish route, applicable parts, inspection document and acceptance responsibility. For example: "hot-dip galvanized after fabrication for straight tray, bends, covers and brackets; coating reference ASTM A123/A123M or project equivalent; coating record required before shipment."
